Hibiscus tea

Hibiscus tea is a great natural weight loss supplement

Hibiscus tea has a natural way of slowing down our absorption of fats and carbohydrates by its enzyme inhibitors. Our bodies produce the enzyme amylase, which breaks down fats and carbohydrates and by drinking a cup of hibiscus tea, we can slow down the process so we do not absorb much fats when we eat.

The hibiscus flower is also a great cleansing tea, it cleanses our bodies of all kinds of toxins and chemicals and it also has the ability as an anti-bloating agent, helping us out when we eat foods which might give us gas.

Some of the other great benefits of the hibiscus flower are, it is good for helping menopause, helps stop hot flashes, it is full of antioxidants and vitamin C for building a better immune system and is also great for acne problems.

The hibiscus flowers are found in warm, temperate and tropical regions of the world and they come in many different colors, whites, reds, oranges and yellows.

Making tea from hibiscus flowers is simple and you can buy dried hibiscus flowers here for your tea making. If you are growing your own then fresh flowers are the best.

Once you have some of the hibiscus flowers for your tea, a good ratio is 1 Tbsp of dried petals to 2 cups of water, place the petals into your pot of water and bring to a boil. Next let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, you can add different spices to your tea mix if you like, cinnamon or fennel or cloves are good examples. When it is finished, strain into cups and add honey or lemon for a bit of sweet sourer flavoring.
