I love licorice root tea, it is one of my favorite teas to drink, one of the many benefits this amazing tea give us for losing weight is the ability to curve our cravings, it is naturally sweet and thus can help curve our sweet tooth craving as well.
Licorice root tea can regulating blood sugar to a normal level, help our adrenal glands become stronger, it is good for bronchitis, inflammation, diabetes, arthritis, constipation, chronic gastritis, ulcers and more.
Licorice root is originally from South Africa but is now grown all over the world; it can be grown all year round and likes it either in full sun or light shade. The licorice root is like a small trailing shrub with green silver leaves, the root is what we eat.
Another great benefit of licorice root is it helps our digestion, if we chew on some licorice root before we eat it will activate our salivary glands in our mouth, this helps to break down food when we start chewing.
Making licorice root tea is very simple, all you need is some dried licorice and a pot of water. If you have dried licorice root you will need to chop or grind it up first before you make tea out of it, once it is ground put a spoonful of licorice root into your pot and bring to a boil.
Once it has boiled let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes then strain if needed into cups and ad honey or lemon as flavorings.
